Christine Fialho, Sunday, 29 May 2011

The PCAT State Pony Club Games were held on Sunday 29 May 2011 with a very white, frosty and foggy start to the day. The competition got away right on time and with competitors moving promptly on and off the field after each race, the day was over early.   Congratulations to West Tamar Pony Club on a very well run event.

Division 1 was won in a very convincing style by Huntingfield with a score of 104 points.  West Tamar followed in second position with 84 points with Deloraine coming home third on 79 points. They were followed closely by Leven on 78 points.

In Division 2 Circular Head came in winners on 89 points followed by Lilydale on 86.  In third place was Inglis on 70 points with Huon just taking fourth on 56 points from Launceston on 55!

Congratulations to all riders, their mounts and coaches, our three judges, Maureen Reece, Sue Haywood and Gill Viney, scorers Christine Fialho and Fiona Story, chief steward, Donna Griffiths, starter, Barry Harper and commentator, Marisa Hall, as well as the many stewards, gear stewards and the parents of all who participated.  Lastly a big thank you to the canteen ladies who were so busy preparing and selling all that hot food today, good job.  Congratulations to everyone including the many spectators, for a very enjoyable and fun day.
